Abstract
Tooth avulsion is a serious traumatic injury characterized by complete displacement of a tooth from its socket, disruption of the blood supply to the pulp, and exposure of periodontal ligament cells to the external environment. Avulsion of primary teeth has been reported to comprise 5.8% to 19.4% of all types of traumatic injuries to the primary dentition. Compared to the abundant literature on replantation of avulsed permanent teeth, literature on replantation of avulsed primary teeth is significantly limited. These case reports describe the treatment and follow-up relating to replantation of avulsed primary teeth. No negative consequences were observed in these cases, and the only specific finding was canal calcific degeneration, which is considered as a healing process for traumatized primary teeth.
